Bunk'Art 2 was built during the 1980s, under the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, as part of the communist regime's defense strategy in Albania. Its primary purpose was to provide protection for the highest state officials in the event of a nuclear attack or any other major threat.
History within Bunk'Art 2
Transformed from a bunker into a museum, Bunk'Art 2 contains significant historical accounts from the communist dictatorship period, including the secret police, known as Sigurimi. The museum's exhibits offer a comprehensive overview of the methods of control and repression used by the communist regime to maintain power and suppress any form of dissent.
