BUNK'GALERI
Have you ever wondered what the home of an Albanian family looked like in the past? Discover the "Socialist Home" at Bunk'Art 1
One of the most unique rooms in Bunk’Art 1 is undoubtedly the “Socialist Home”, an authentic recreation of an Albanian household during the communist regime. The furniture and overall atmosphere reflect the simple lifestyle of the 1960s to 1980s, where every object tells a story from the daily life of Albanians under the harsh reality of dictatorship. From thick-fabric sofas to black-and-white televisions, from traditional-patterned carpets to wooden cupboards, everything takes you back in time, evoking a sense of family warmth, but also the limitations of socialist life.
The home has always been the heart of the Albanian family, even during periods when private property was strictly controlled and state housing was allocated only with party approval. Identical furniture in every household and an imposed sense of simplicity were part of an experience that today lives on in memory.
Visit Bunk’Art 1 and step inside the “Socialist Home”, a room that invites you to remember, reflect, and better understand life in Albania during the communist period.
