BUNK'GALERI

One of the most unique rooms in Bunk'Art 1: Enver Hoxha's office

One of the most unique and interesting rooms in Bunk’Art 1 is the office of Enver Hoxha, the former dictator who ruled Albania for several decades. Hoxha is known for isolating the country from the rest of the world and building thousands of bunkers, driven by an obsession with a potential attack that, according to him, could come from external enemies.

This office is the largest and the most "luxurious" (for its time) in the entire bunker. It consists of an antechamber where his personal secretary would stay, a workspace, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The walls are covered in fiber, a material that at the time was considered highly valuable, making this room one of the most important and unique spaces in the 5-story bunker.

Although the office was fully equipped to meet all his needs, it is interesting to note that Enver Hoxha never actually slept there. He only visited the room during two high-level drills held after the bunker’s inauguration in 1978.

Visiting this room is a opportunity to gain deeper insight into a dark period of Albania’s history and to see how the dictator organized his personal and governmental defense. For those who want to learn more about Albania's past, this room is a must-see destination.

Visit Bunk’Art 1 and learn the history preserved within its walls.
